Welcome to Choteau, a small town in north central Montana

With the Rocky Mountain Front to the west and the northern plains to the east, Choteau sits in a beautiful river bottom and has scenic views in every direction.  Choteau, the Teton County seat, has a population of around 1800 people and its main economic drivers are farming and ranching. It also has a school, hospital, and many small businesses.

Choteau is located about 15 minutes north of Freezout Lake Wildlife Management Area (Freezout), making it an ideal jumping off point to experience the spring bird migration. Below we have listed links to more information about places to stay and dining options.
